Congrats!! What's your prize?
ReplyDeleteautos...lots of em! Topps will call nick since he officially submitted the entry. But at least now we are all off the hook. Topps auto response has changed, and we can start to share how we did it. According to their email to Nick, we are the only ones to solve it to this point.
ReplyDeleteWow, didn't know the auto-response has been changed until I saw your comment...awesome!!!!
ReplyDelete-Nick
OH MY GOD! YOU LUCKY PERSON! Have fun with the Phelps auto. Man, that was fast!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! Awesome news!!
ReplyDeleteHad a great teammate in Nick to help put the pieces together. Never could have done it without him.
ReplyDeleteThanks drew and sox...cant wait to share how we did it...matter of fact I need to figure out a way to explain how we did it!
ReplyDeleteHOLY HELL! That is AWESOMELY INCREDIBLY AMAZING! Way to go!!
ReplyDeleteMan that's great. Good for you guys. Nice going!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeremy and Beardy! It feels great.
ReplyDeleteJob well done - can't wait to see pics of your winnings!
ReplyDeleteI have a scanner! Must have been a foreshadow of things to come.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow dude, good work!
ReplyDeleteYou've reached the summit of Mt. Ginter!
ReplyDeleteAmazing...congratulations! I eagerly await the description of methodology. And here I am still merely opening my boxes!
ReplyDeletethanks guys! Dinged, I meant to get your Wright out to you today, but suddenly the whole day spun all crazy on me! In the mail tomorrow though, promise.
ReplyDeletedude.... thats great news, my jaw hit the floor when i read it!! you guys are ICONS now in the sportscard blogging world. A tip of the hat, sir!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wicked. I don't know about icons, but I definitely feel good about the accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm sure JD is excited about the additions to "his" collection!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! I can't wait to hear the explanation because I wouldn't have even known where to start lol...
ReplyDeleteCongrats, especially on solving it so quickly. I'm guessing that Topps isn't too thrilled with that because there goes one of the draws for the set.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read the solution.
I saw 09 A&G retail at Target tonight, almost bought a pack but thought, "The code has already been cracked, whats the point?"
ReplyDeleteHear that, Topps? Discount '09 Allen & Ginter or I won't buy any!!! I'm a guaranteed one or two packs a month, definitely a life changing amount of money for a lucky shop owener...
DANG I was about to scan my code cards and get in... I'm slow... dang moving...
ReplyDeleteWell, I kinda feel sorry for the Topps guy who invented it, but it was damn clever so I tip my hat to him. Hope to maybe talk to him at some point. I Dont feel bad for the dudes at Ebay trying to sell each stinkin card for at least a buck...Though THANK YOU EBAY for scanning (most) of the images online. Since they were a parallel, the backs of the cards did not matter.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you both on solving the code. I think you're right. It was a pretty safe bet that every card in the set had to have been scanned. I think if they do this again next year, Topps might cover up the card (similar to the Topps Mystery Finest cards in the late 90's).
ReplyDeleteRegardless, good job.
Sincerely,
JayBee Anama

thanks james! I retire after this one anyways :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats guy!!! That was fast! I didn't even get a chance to get any code cards yet. Enjoy the auto set! Let me know when they contact you if they haven't already, they didn't contact me until two days after the contest ended last year. I had to wait almost 3 months. But again CONGRATS!!! Jason
ReplyDeleteThanks Champ! Yeah, we kinda were "persistant" with contacting Topps. I think they finally relented and gave in.
